This is a widefield image of the area surrounding Deneb. It was taken using a canon EOS-300D camera with a 28-105mm zoom lens set at 28mm and piggybacked on top of my telescope and LXD-75 mount. The image represents the sum of 8 X 60sec exposures at ISO800. The thing that amazes me about this image is the colour and multitude of all the stars. The dust lanes of the milky way can be clearly seen running from bottom left to top right. Deneb is the bright star in the centre of the image and the North American Nebula NGC 7000 is the red hazy patch directly below it. The image was captured at DSC Headcorn on 6th August 2005 at 21:45 |
