COMET 73P-B SCHWASSMANN-WACHMANN | |||

This comet was originally discovered by Schwassmann and Wachmann in 1930. The comet was then lost and not found again until 1979. This comet is very fragile and every time it passes close to the sun it starts to break up. Approximately 20 fragments have so far been identified of which fragment B is currently the brightest. The comet passes close to Earth in May and so will hopefully be more favourable for imaging. This image was taken using my Toucam SC3 at prime focus of my MN56 and represents the sum of 50X10 secs exposures. |
