This is a widefield view of the constellation of Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia is visible all year from UK latitudes. The image spans an area of approximately 30 degrees (60 X the size of the full moon) The Andromeda Galaxy M31 can be clearly seen as an elliptical shape on the right hand side of the image about half way up. The image is a single 60 sec frame captured at ISO 800 using my EOS 300D and 28-105mm zoom (set to 28mm) piggybacked on top of my telescope. Image was captured at DSC Headcorn on 5th August 2005 at 23:47 |
